Puerto Viejo is located on the Southern Caribbean Coast of Costa Rica about 5  driving hours away from San José International Airport. I’m happy to assist you with finding the most convenient transportation options and give you details about how to get to Chimuri safely.

There are direct public buses leaving out of San José daily from the MEPE bus station at 6:00am, 10am, 2:00pm.

If you are coming by private vehicle, about 1 km before reaching the center of Puerto Viejo, take the gravel road to the west (left as you view the beach and just before the rest./bar ‘The Point’) for about 450 meters where, after a double curve towards the sea side, you will see a blue gate on your left with a small sign ‘Chimuri Beach Retreat’. We are right before ‘ Black Sands’ in front the beach.
